Good News from Rev. Ki Choi

Updated: Oct 12, 2022

Greetings Centenary Family and Friends!

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise God in his fortress, the sky! Praise God in his mighty acts! - (Psalm 150:1-2)

We are excited about what God is doing here at Centenary United Methodist Church! We are looking forward to all that God has for us in the future as we continue to look to our Lord for guidance and wisdom.

We give God our praise and thanksgiving for 125 Years of Ministry at Centenary United Methodist Church. Last year we began our yearlong anniversary celebration with Bishop Roy Sano’s message on how we can “Honor the Past, Engage the Present, and Impact the Future.”

Throughout the year we gave thanks to those before us and remembered our past through oral histories and stories and with reunions. We emerged from the pandemic with renewed energy to reactivate our various ministries and projects. And now we are eager to explore and move forward with new ministries and opportunities to serve our Lord.

We cordially invite you to join us for our 125th Anniversary Celebration Weekend on October 15 and 16. Please mark your calendars for:

· Saturday, October 15 at 11 a.m. for our 125th Anniversary Luncheon at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel. See the enclosed flyer for details on how you can make a reservation.

· Sunday, October 16 for our 125th Anniversary Celebration Worship Service at 10 a.m. Bishop Grant Hagiya will deliver the message at this joint English and Nichigo Service. This service will also be shown on Zoom and streamed live on You Tube (see the link on our website: CentenaryDTLA.org).

· We will take an All Church Picture immediately after the Worship Service. And please join us for lunch in the Social Hall as well.

You are a part of Centenary’s history, and we hope that you can join us for our final 125th Anniversary celebrations.

With Gratitude and Excitement,

Rev. Ki Choi
