CENTENARY’S JOYS AND CONCERNS

Did you know that our church organist, Akina Motoyama, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on January 20th at 9:34 p.m. Baby’s name is Shoshana Esther Motoyama Sorrell. She weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and was 18 ½ inches. Akina and husband, Benjamin Sorrell are elated but tired. Baby Shoshana is happy and content. Congratulations to the Motoyama Sorrell family.

Mrs. Giduk Yoo who passed away on February 18 at her home in Fullerton. She is the mother of Sue Mi Jae Jones. She was 96 years old and a devout Christian.


Kathy Kumagai Shimamura, daughter of Ken Kumagai and the late June Kumagai, recently passed away in February. She is survived by her husband Karl Shimamura and twin brothers Russell and Randall. Kathy was very active in our MYF program here at Centenary for many, many years, both as a participant and as a leader.


Mrs. Ruth Geary, 97 year old grandmother of Stephanie Leese passed away on February 9 in Greensburg, PA.


Marchie Takesuye, sister of Nellie Mitani passed away recently.
