Congratulations and Best Wishes to Tyler Haruta and Michelle Cassani on their recent marriage. Tyler is the son of Jan & Steve Haruta, and grandson of Yoshie Hagiya. They were married on August 5, 2022. May God bless you with a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness.

Ruth Akiyoshi, who passed away on August 4, 2022. She is survived by her son Cary; daughter-in-law, Tammie, and grandchildren Kenneth & Taryn. A graveside service was held on August 23 at Rose Hills in Whittier.
Elston Carr, who passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife Verna, of 58 years, and 3 sons Elston Jr., Jason (wife Murlin), and Torino, (wife Cassandra), and 7 grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Kaylan, Jaylan, Matthew, Joshua & Adrian. Elston & Verna were long time members of Centenary since 35th & Normandie days. When they retired 2 years ago and moved back to Belize they always kept in touch with their Centenary family. We will always remember soft-spoken Elston for his generosity and kindness and most of all his sweet smile! Rest in Peace dear Elston.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Centenary UMC on Saturday, September 17 at 11 a.m.
with Rev. Ki Choi officiating.
Fumiko Teraoka, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022. She is survived by daughter Janice, and son Gary Teraoka. Funeral arrangements are pending.
